COLA Kicks-off the 2021 National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week

Apr 20, 2021

COLA is very honored to participate in celebrating all laboratory heroes during National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week. The work of laboratorians has been highlighted during the pandemic, but laboratorians consistently work behind the scenes assisting in helping patients achieve well-being and a high quality of life.

Nancy Stratton, Chief Executive Officer of COLA, kicks off this week with a message to laboratory professionals nationwide. “Laboratorians are key to upholding the highest levels of patient care. They offer invaluable expertise related to test results during the diagnosis process and throughout treatment. COLA appreciates and emphasizes the contributions of all medical laboratory professionals. All of those working in laboratories, including phlebotomists, processors, accessioners, data entry staff, couriers, laboratory warehouse personnel, and testing personnel are crucial to upholding the highest quality of care,” Stratton said.

COLA has launched efforts to honor laboratorians as they make a major impact on COVID-19 by using the hashtag #UnitedToStopCOVID19.

COLA has joined forces with healthcare professionals by sharing timely CDC LOCs alerts and information to keep the public informed. COLA has also launched several new product lines, like its Waived Testing Toolkit, to help bring the highest level of quality and patient safety in the laboratory.
