
COLA has appointed Rose Mary Casados as the organization’s Education Division Manager.
In her new role, Casados will be responsible for planning, developing and executing COLA’s educational offerings, including those available via its LabUniversity,org learning management system and COLAcentral.org, the accreditor’s laboratory management desktop tool. She will also be responsible for managing COLA’s semi-annual clinical symposia designed to increase the knowledge base and skill level of all staff in the clinical laboratory environment.
Casados most recently held the position of Director of Business Development at Copan Diagnostics Inc., where she was responsible for diagnostic product line sales, including the launch of a new automated specimen processing platform.
Prior to her role at Copan, Casados was the Worldwide Marketing Manager for Becton Dickinson Biosciences, which she joined as a Microbiology Specialist in 1991. She previously served as Chief Microbiologist at Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, FL, after serving in Microbiology and other technical positions at North Shore University Hospital and Catholic Medical Center, both in New York.
Casados has a Bachelor degree in Medical Technology from St. John’s University and is studying for a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
