California requires certification of phlebotomists. In 2006 a large number of phlebotomists must be recertified. Recertification includes the requirement for six Continuing Education credits every two-year period.
This Phlebotomy Continuing Education Course of Study #2 is a combination of selected COLA on-line courses, packaged to meet the continuing education requirements of phlebotomists, especially those in California.
You will learn:
- The importance of safety in the medical laboratory
- Good laboratory practices for performing waived tests
- The pre-analytic factors that impact specimen collection
- The changes of CLIA that impact specimen collection and patient identification
This Course of Study includes courses that have been approved for CME and P.A.C.E.® credit.
There are no prerequisites for this Course of Study.
The Continuing Education Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science in California has approved COLA as a continuing education provider.
